Introduction
The Creative Lab was created with the wish to spark the light of creativity in young children. We believe that a child that is in touch with their creative power at a young age, develops further their imagination, their self confidence, and their ability to transforming ideas into action. Creativity forms an important foundation for a child's personal development by bringing elements of problem solving, experimentation and freedom of expression.

This course encourages children to discover their own creative expression and to be in contact with art and nature's healing power. We do this through experimentation of different natural artistic materials and techniques, such as drawing, painting, collage, crayons, clay, etc. Each lesson presents a new exercise that is combined with storytelling, games, imagination, observation and collaboration. The learning journey focuses on exploration and experimentation while having a lot of fun!
Using the metaphor of a young bird learning to sing his first song, the Creative Lab guides children in this process of discovering their own voice and learning how to express that through art. At Curamora we recognise that the journey of creativity and artistic expression may have a beginning but has no end, the creative foundation children gain in this journey will continue throughout their life. .
Methodology
The Creative Lab follows a learning journey inspired by a young bird learning to fly and to sing his first song.

The course methodology applies 3 phases of transformation for every child:
-
Phase 1 - Hatching from the egg: Highlighting the idea of new life and of the creative abilities that are waiting to be revealed.
-
Phase 2 - Listening and Seeing: Exploring the world by learning to listen, observe and express their unique point of view.
-
Phase 3 - Singing your Song: Expressing their unique voice through creating with art materials, mediums and techniques.
-
Phase 4 - Freedom to fly: Experimenting creative freedom through joy and play whilst allowing their imagination to bloom.
The songbird's journey follows a cycle of discovery and expression, where a young bird is born and gains the confidence to fly out into the world. He then learns his first song and gains the ability of creating new song types, variations and compositions. Inspired by this metaphor, the Creative Lab brings this concept to the children who will begin and continue developing their creative expression throughout life.
Each lesson connects the pieces of the creative songs they will sing in life.
Art as
therapy.
in our classes we see art as a transformational tool that has the power to heal from within. When supporting children to be in touch with their imagination and creativity, we create the space for fresh healing energy to flow. We unblock any negative energy and emotions through the power of hands-on creativity and by being in contact with Nature.
